Yesterday, we got the terrible news that our Uncle Jay was found dead. He was disappointed after missing the phone call from his son, Riley, who had recently called from the airport on his way to Sweden on an LDS mission, and headed to the mountains of Tooele County to find solace where he and his oldest boy had shared countless treks. He was supposed to only be gone for the day, but never returned. Search parties started looking early Friday morning. The area was very big and incredibly dangerous. He was found about 11:00 AM on Saturday. He had fallen about 60 feet off a steep cliff. He must have fallen within a half hour of when he started hiking because he was only 1/2 mile from his car, and his water and food hadn't been touched. He died immediately, which is comforting to the family to know that he didn't suffer. Everyone in the family is incredibly grateful for all the searchers. There were so many helping hands. There were friends, family, and many strangers. He left behind a very sweet family of a wife and 6 children. Everyone is heartbroken, but it's so comforting to know that their little family was sealed in the temple for eternity. I know they will all see each other again, and that Heavenly Father is watching over them. There was the most peaceful feeling at their home, and his wife, Marcie, said she knew there were angels all about so thanks for all the prayers; they have definitely been felt.

Ang, I'm so sorry to hear about your uncle. I'm so grateful that he was found and that Marcie and the family finally have some closure. Headie told me the news last night and my heart just went out to Marcie. I can't comprehend what it must be like for her, but I'm grateful that there was a peaceful feeling in their home. We will continue to pray for their family.
I've been fasting an dpraying for your families all day today. I can't imagine having that happen and having to deal with the grief. We love you so much and will continue to pray for the Lord to provide comfort and strength for all of you who are grieving. We love you:)
I am so sorry to hear this news. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.
What?? I'm so sorry. We were out of town over the weekend so this is the first time I read this. I'm sorry. That's really sad. Especially since he has 6 kids. I hope their family is doing okay. It's so comforting to know that they will be together forever.
I'm so sorry to hear about your uncle. Knowing that he died immediately really makes it more comforting and knowing that they were sealed for eternity is very comforting as well! I'm sorry again for your loss. I hope all is well with you and your family.
