30 Weeks: The Size of a Cucumber

I decided I wanted to get a 30 week ultrasound with some 3D pictures to get a better look at baby girl, BUUUUUT we were so sad because she was not in a good position to get to see her cute little face. The placenta and umbilical cord were covering most of her face in all the pictures. We did learn that she is head down......and we did get a few of her nose and mouth but they are sorta hard to see (as you can tell). Austin thinks she's got an Oborn nose.... big and flat haha.... but babies always have flat noses at first, so we will see. She also looks like she's got some nice big lips and some chubby feet, but who knows.

You can't really tell but in this picture below she is opening her mouth... she kept sticking out her tongue at us.

She also kept playing with the umbilical cord between her 2 feet......

And this one is her hand...gripping onto the umbellical cord....

I can't believe I am 30 weeks, and I only have about 2 months to go! I have hit a big milestone and it feels SOOOOOO good to be this far along. The time is going by so fast. I feel like I have so much to do but at the same time I feel like I've been pregnant for a decade. I am getting so excited....I feel like I can't handle it any longer!!!! I am hoping to delivery this baby on June 6th. That is the date I picked. I would be 38 1/2 weeks pregnant and the date 6.6.12 has a good ring to it.

This week I did a ton of work on the nursery. I got the recliner set up. I finished the curtains, and I have most of the decorations up. This week I'll be working on the crib. Austin is going to get it set up. We still need a mattress, crib skirt, and I still have to make the bumper, but then it is pretty much complete....woot woot!!!

I am still amazed how good I feel at this point. This has been one of my favorite weeks of pregnancy... probably my 3rd favorite week to be exact :) I am sleeping a good 8 or 9 hours through the night and getting a good sleep makes the BIGGEST difference. Also, she has moved up into my ribs and it's actually been SOOO nice. It's taken the pressure off my hips and bladder, and I am now able to walk around the store without feeling like I have to hold my belly up. The sharp pains of my growing uterus have also stopped, so I can't complain about this pregnancy too much.... just chubby and happy I am.

Other Symptoms: I'm getting tired again. Like so tired that 9 PM feels like 3 AM. My hair is the worst. It is SOOO dry and gross. I am cutting my fingernails pretty much every day; I can't stand when the white shows. If I get hot, my feet will start to swell. At the end of the day, my back is sore as can be. I have started to notice Braxton Hicks a couple times a day...mostly when my bladder is full. I can pretty much feel her moving around all day long now. She's been the most active in the last 2 weeks of my pregnancy. My belly button has now gone from an extreme inny to an extreme outy. Austin asked if it goes back normal. My response.... "Don't plan on anything going back to the way it was!"

That is amazing-- how neat to get a mental picture of the little girl that will be in your arms so soon (even if it wasn't a perfect picture of her entire face)!! She's going to be beautiful just like her mommy. Hope everything continues to go well for the next couple months until she gets here!
