Half a Year Old Already

My baby is getting too big! No no no....stop it! She just learned to sit up. She still topples over a lot, but she's sitting. She sometimes has a hard time sitting because she is sooooo wiggly and sooooo busy. She has to be focusing on a toy or something to get her to hold still!!! She's been getting more and more mobile. She's been army crawling for a couple weeks, and this week she started getting on her hands and knees and rocking. I'm not ready for her to start crawling!!!! I just want her to stay in one place still. My world is about to get a whole lot busier chasing this busy body around. She is constantly moving her hands...swatting and grabbing and so interested in everything. It just seems like she is always learning and taking everything in. She is also so so so spoiled. She wants to be entertained by me ALL THE TIME!!! She has so many toys, but if I'm not right by her playing with her...she's crying or fake crying. Soooo I let her cry because sometimes (just sometimes) I actually have to cook dinner and clean the house.

She is getting so interactive, and likes to laugh. She smiles all the time, too!! People love it because she pretty much smiles at everyone. She has started to give kisses. Obviously, she doesn't know it but she likes to open her mouth on my face and just hold it there, so we are teaching her the word "kisses". Her favorite is when daddy comes home from work. Even if she is grouchy, she all the sudden is the happiest baby in the world. She gets sick of me :) She likes to play a game with daddy when she sucks all over his face and he yells "ahhh...don't get me!" "she's getting me, mommy!" She thinks it's the funnest thing ever!

I've noticed this month that her hair has started coming back. It's coming in dark, and her eyelashes are getting longer and they curl right up. It's so darn cute. She started eating solids in the last month. She started with rice cereal at 5 months. I switched to oatmeal for digestive reasons :) Then we started sweet potatoes last week. At first she hated them. She would keep her mouth sealed shut, but now she loves them and cries almost the whole time because I can't get it in her mouth fast enough!!!

She loves to be outside of the house. She's rarely ever whiny or sad when we are on the go because she loves to look around. I think she is like her mom in that way. I have never been a home body (until now). She's pretty easy to take out and likes her car seat now. It rocks her right to sleep! She is still a Binky baby and has yet to fall asleep without it. Yep, still putting it in a nights. I can't do the cry it out thing. I've accepted that I am just not that mom. I tried, and it stressed me out, and now she still just sleeps in our room. I sleep better and she sleeps better too. I just hope one day she'll start sleeping through the night without waking up for her Bink and then she can go in her crib...maybe wishful thinking, but for now...we love her in our room with us, and I still love how snugly she is. She's pretty dang good about falling asleep, but she has a hard time staying asleep. I have found that if I wake her up at 8:30 or 9 instead of letting her sleep in until 10 she actually gets more sleep because she takes better naps and she's way happier in the day, so right now she goes to sleep at about 9:30 or 10 and wakes up about 8:30 or 9, but still wakes up to eat at 6 on the dot!
