HaPPy BirThDAy To YOu

Last night we went to a little get together / birthday party for Austin's brother, Adam. One year ago from yesterday he had a Bone Marrow Transplant, which means he has been cancer-free for a full year now!!!
We went over to the Bennion's house (Alissa's Parents) and had Wassail and a Pumpkin Roll to celebrate. Her fam is fab.

Alissa's mom, Vicky, was so sweet and made all of us these lovely FAITH blocks.... I know, this picture just doesn't do justice.

The Ingersoll fam is fab also, of course. (I might need to wash my face in this picture. Don't mind if I do have a little grease on my forehead)
And here we all are. We like to call ourselves the Bennersolls (BTW we are missing 6 of our fellow Bennersoll members)

Adam and Alissa: We love you guys! Thanks for being some of our most awesome friends ever. We're so glad Adam is healthy, and we TOO hope there are MANY, MANY more cancer-free birthdays to come. Our testimonies have grown through watching you two be FAITHFUL through your trials. merry christmas and a HAPPY new cancer-free year! Love, Your BFFs On a side note-
Austin and I had our first date (after the mission) 3 years ago from today, so I thought...what a perfect time to reminisce.....
Kristi and I went to Snow College to watch Dixie play them in basketball, and because we were so close, we just decided to drive home for the weekend (wise decision on my part, thank you). Austin called me that night and invited me to his homecoming the next day, but no way was I going by myself when I didn't really even know him that well. Well the next day was Sunday December 11th, and I didn't go to his homecoming, but he called me later that night to see if he could come over. I was SO excited.... like so excited. We had been on a date before his mission so I knew what he looked like, but when I opened the door that night - he was so much better looking than I remembered. He was wearing this cute brown jacket with a white shirt under, dark jeans, and white shoes. My whole family was over, and my dad set a chair right in the middle of all of us in a circle, and started putting him on the spot to embarrass him, of course. He handled it SO well, and I thought he was really sweet. For some reason (I don't know why) we had to go to the Maughan's house because Lindsay and Brandon were over there. That night Courtney, Pauline, and Brittney called that we would get married because "I was beaming".... how right were they? I was beaming. I was sooo beyond happy. We also went over to his Grandma and Grandpa's Squires house, where I pretty much met all 18 aunts and uncles and a million of his cousins. We also went to his Uncle Jason's house where I met Jason Monica and Jarod from the Ingersoll side. It was a little overwhelming. I guess it counts as a first date, even though it wasn't quite a first date - it was just a lot of driving around and meeting his family. Isn't that funny though? He asked me out for the next night to go to a big family party, where I ended up meeting all the rest of his family (holy cow!) I remember what I was wearing. I went shopping and got a new outfit for the date, and I spent SOOO long getting ready haha. After the family party we went back to his house to watch Phantom of the Opera by the Christmas Tree, and it was romantic, even if we were sitting miles apart. Well I went back to St. George after that second date and told my roomies that I thought I might marry him....they laughed, but I packed my bags and moved home over Christmas. The rest is history. THE END
