Steel Days & Babysitting

First off - just thought I would tell everyone that I got attacked by a bird today. Oh my gosh!!!! I wish I could explain it right. It was the weirdest thing ever. I was running, and all the sudden I notice this black bird circling above my head. So it flies ahead of me, and lands on a branch. Next thing I know....it is heading straight for my head. What the heck??? So I duck and dodge it, and then it comes back behind me, and I dodge it again. At first I just think it was kinda weird, but then it lands ahead of me and comes straight for my head again. I start shaking my head back and forth and waving my hands in the air, and it keeps doing the same thing!!!!!!!!!!! Sooooo I start sprinting up this hill as fast I could. By this time it was still swooping for my head and I had started screaming. Yes, I was screaming out loud. I was soooo scared!!! I have never ran so fast before, and uphill!!!! Seriously......did it think my bun on my head was a nest or something?????? Austin says I have bad karma. I finally lost the bird by the time I got to the top of the hill, but it probably swooped for my head like ten times. Have you ever tried to dodge a bird? They have good aim. It was barely missing me every time. At the top of the hill, my chest hurt soooooo bad from running and my heart was beating sooo fast. I really couldn't run anymore. I was too afraid of the birds!!!!! Is that not so weird??????? I wish someone were video taping it because I am positive it would be the funniest thing in the world, and I would most definitely win America's Funniest Home Videos. Okay, that's my story. The end....back to the weekend.
This weekend we babysat my cute, little cousins and carted them around to all the Ingersoll Steel Days events. It started off with a girls night watching shopaholic, eating ice cream, and spending ten hours taking out all of Melissa's braids - holy cow. I started getting blisters on my fingers - not kidding. The next day we went swimming at the Rec, and then went on some rides at the carni. Bummer I don't have any pictures because they went on some brave rides.
This year we decided to go ALL OUT for the parade. Jarod planned a camp out and breakfast. Everyone slept out in tents in Grandma and Grandpa Ingersoll's backyard. Okay well almost everyone slept out there. I was a party pooper and slept in my bed while Austin was a trooper and stayed with the little girls. He is still complaining about his 3 hour sleep that night, and is actually napping right now - shocker. Here the girls are in their tent.. .

The next morning we all woke up and had a yummy dutch oven breakfast before the parade!!! It was so much fun. Here are some pics of the parade at our house....

Monica and Bowen

This is probably my favorite picture ever taken with our camera.... look at little Kacie Gene. SOOOO CUTE!

Some of the Meltons Aaron, JJ, and Jason Austin built a homemade tent on our front lawn for shade. I begged him to take it down because I thought it was so embarrassing, but it ended up being a big hit! It was soooooooooo hot that day! Ooooo la la.... Ari and Ryan Our house... The cutest kid ever wearing my sunglasses upside down haha :) He just learned Austin's name, and loves to say, "Autin.... Autin....Autin!!!" My mom and dad with the girls... The kids waitin for some more candy... Me and my pops.... Another picture of our house and the sweet tent haha.. Later that night we went to the outside movie at Fox Hollow golf course and watched the fireworks with all the Ingersolls. Apparently they do it every three weeks, and it was really fun! They played bedtime stories.. Crazy kids...
Austin's mom Cindi and Jarod dancing during the break haha.... The Ingersolls
JJ with his date and Jodi and Michelle
Jason with his boys...
Jarod, Jamie, and their cute boys....

Just like Austin said.... another successful steel days!!!

Ha ha ha!! Your bird story is hilarious. I can't believe that it was attacking you like that. You should watch the movie BIRDS its an old movie where the bird are attacking the humans, your story reminds me of that:) I'm glad you lived through that!

Steele days is always fun, we only made it to the fireworks this year, but they were great! Seriously Ang when in the heck are we going to get together? I know summers are busy but we need to get together ASAP!! OK!
