So I was begging Austin every night we were in Georgia to go home.
I was doing him all sorts of favors to get him to even think about going home a week early....
(like walking to the gas station to get him Mtn Dew whenever he wanted)
Finally we came to an agreement.....
If I went to the FSU vs. BYU game, we could go.
So of course I was in, and we drove 1 1/2 to Tallahassee to go to the game.
I have never been so hot in my life. I felt like I was frying in the sun. It was 96 degrees and humid as humid. Everyone smelt like sweat and had to keep taking breaks from the game to go under the bleachers for some shade. It was crazy, but it was kinda fun to see BYU fans so far away from home (and I'm not even a BYU fan)
We were planning to leave the following morning to start the journey home, but once we got back to the motel, we decided to just take off. We packed all of our stuff and left at 1 AM!!!!
On the way, we drove right through Liberty so we had to stop at Liberty Jail for a quick second (especially since it was Sunday)
We finally made it to Nebraska to see Andy, Lauren and the kids at 10 PM the following day.
We were soooo happy to see them and get a good night sleep. On Monday, we went and visited Andy at work. Austin loved seeing him in his dental uniform and the Dr. Ingersoll plaque on the wall! He was proud of his big brotha.
Afterwards, Austin and I took Avery and Andrew to the zoo. We had so much fun playing with the kids. They showed us all around the place.
It was also perfect timing because it was Livi's 1 year old birthday party. My sister in law, Lauren, is amazing and went all out for the cake, decorations, invitations, and food. I am going to need to get some major creative advice from her when I'm a mom. I even got to use her sweet camera and take some pics of Livi. Isn't she is a doll? I love her.
and I love Austin's freckles.
We wish we could have stayed at their house longer than 1 night, but we ended up having to get home faster than we were planning for another job interview for Austin. We left after Livi's party at about 10 PM and drove through the night again. (Yes, just a little sleep deprived is all) We had to stop for a few hours and sleep cause we were dying, but we made it home on Tuesday afternoon, and we were soooo happy to see the UTAH sign!!!
Now we are trying to figure out what to do with our lives. It's kinda exciting to be doing something other than school, but freaking us out a little not have any jobs. We kinda feel like lost puppies at the moment.
BUT look how cute Austin is looking. Yes, he had to cut off his shag. Who couldn't hire him...seriously?
So the summer has come to an end. It seems like we were gone forever, but we had quite the experience.
Here is our summer recap:
We drove through/visited 28 states!!!!
Put over 7500 miles on our cars.
And drove for over 150 hours all over the country.
We..........
AND
Met lots of new friends.
Not too bad all all.
It's definitely a summer we will never forget.
Now we are ready for Fall in UT!!!
