Carving Memories

Every year we have a pumpkin carving contest at my parents house. This year we were missing peeps, and it just wasn't the same. My mom and dad didn't carve, and Lindz and Brandon couldn't come, and Er was working - so we were just left with Me & Aust, Chel & Matt C, and Matt E. My mom made us scones and hot chocolate. MMMMMM It was still really fun! Here I am carving my masterpiece.
Which turned out like this.....
Can you tell who it is? It was really really hard! It's Sarah Palin! Hahah I thought it would be really funny cause my dad is obsessed with her (to the point that he got in a fight with the news guy for dissing her, which is a whole other story). But my dad couldn't figure out who she was. Really? Is wear you can tell. I think he really knew. I thought it would be funnier than it actually was. Hmmm shoot.
Austin had a rough night. Usually - he is the last one done with his pumpkin, and it always turns out really cool, but this year was not his year. (Sorry Aust!) First - he didn't even scoop out the guts - when he lit it up it still had seeds all over in it, and two - everyone was picking on him, poor guy, and three - he took like 35 seconds to carve this.....
He used to not be this obsessed with Batman. (PS - don't mind the slightly wrong date printed on the pictures)
Matt E carved this sweet spider....

Michellsie's was the "cutest"

Matt C carved this haunted house, which is really awesome! It took him forever!

Needless to say, I WON! Just kidding - we finished too late that we couldn't have anyone come over and judge, and plus there was really no competition - mine was that good.
And here is a picture of the five of us cool ones. Maybe next year we will have a little bit more participation....HMMM???

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

FUN! I love your Sarah Palin, that's who I am being for Halloween. Get excited. I'll have to go by your parents house with the boys trick-or-treating to see your dad. You guys are experts, with all your crazy carving. My expertise go as far as a face, and that's all..

This may be a dumb question, but did you do that free hand or did you have a print out that you could trace? Either way, very impressive!

How fun! I love carving pumpkins. I always just go generic with like a scary ghost or something. Your pumpkin is awesome that must have taken alot of patience, which I don't have, so thats why i stick with boring. Happy Halloween!!
