all good things must come to an end

We were planning to go to Martha's Vineyard, but Obama got in the way. Yep, we chose the one weekend to go that Obama was on the island!! BOOO
They wouldn't let any more people over. :( We were so sad. We waited in line at the ferry for like 2 hours trying to get over. My dad has a serious obsession with the Kennedy's.

Instead we toured around Cape Cod, which is almost just as good.

We took a walk along the beach up to a lighthouse.

Get ready for lots of singles...
It's called Nobska Lighthouse....
We couldn't get too close cause a wedding was going on
(2nd lighthouse we have visited during a wedding...I guess it's the thing to do here)

Then we walked along the beach some more

Almost all the beaches are private, so we just looked,

Like I said...lots of single pics that day...

Then we finally found a public beach. The weather was pretty chilly, so we didn't get in the water.....just looked some more.

...and skipped rocks....

Afterwards we went to the BEST seafood restaurant ever. Its called Crabapples. I honestly had the BEST salmon in the whole wide word. And our waitress was a hoot....goofy goofy goofy!
Pigtails and all....
It was a blast.
Favorite meal of the trip by a long shot.
...........................................................................................
2 in 1 post today to catch up....
On Sunday we took the 2 1/2 hour drive to Sharon,Vermont to visit Joseph Smith's
 birthplace.
The first thing we did was watch the Joseph Smith movie.
That movie is a freaking tear jerker.
I had a knot in my throat the whole time.
It's true...I don't know how anyone watches that movie and doesn't know the church is true.
It's all true.
We were spiritually fed...indeed.

It was POURING rain like you've never seen...

We took a 20 mile hike (okay 1 mile) around the property to see some of the house foundations still standing.

This is the foundation of Lucy Mack Smith's Father...

The walk was along this OLD OLD OLD road...
It used to be the main highway in the town.
Craziness.

My pictures are nice and blurry, I know. I didn't have time to change my settings around (try holding a camera and umbrella at the same time).
BUT these next pics are of the old stone bridge. It's more than 200 years old...
Did I mention I was wearing slippers??? Yeah.....smart.

This is the actual front step of Joseph Smith's birth house. It marks the spot the house used to stand.

...and this is a little model of what the house looked like.

Vermont is beautiful...especially this place!
If you want to go here....go during Christmas. I hear its extraordinary!!
We are already planning our next trip back to Sharon.

I was sooo sad to say good bye to my family...but we only have 3 more weeks, and we will be back to UT!!! woot woot!!

PS - I sure hope this post makes sense...I am kind of going a little bit crazy living in this hotel.
