We left last Saturday for our Road Trip to Boston, and we seriously overpacked!! We shipped a car full of stuff and drove another car full of stuff. Oh well....at least we have everything we need in case we don't come home (just kidding)!!!!
We drove for about 15 hours straight!
....First through Wyoming. BORING as heck, and Austin got a ticket. Hahaha! He was so mad, but it kept us slow the rest of the trip so we were safe!!!
Then we hit Nebraska for the next 6 hours.
At this point we were doing good and loving the drive. It was going by so fast, and we were so excited.
The fields are BEAUTIFUL - but I would have been happy with just 5 minutes of it :)
Once we hit IOWA 11 hours later, we were starting to feel soo tired of driving. Our original plan was to stop and stay in a hotel there, but we decided to keep driving to get to Andy and Lauren's quicker.
I missed the IOWA sign BLAH, but the rolling hills were sooooo awesome!! I only got a couple pictures before it got dark.
At this point I started driving. Austin had driven the whole 11 hours while I slept. I don't know what my problem was but I could never last very long. I HATE driving. I drove for 4 hours and about fell asleep at the wheel, so we pulled over on the side of the road with the semi's and slept for 4 hours. Kinda scary, but too tired to care.
After we woke up we passed the Mississippi River & crossed into Illinois
Illinois was one of my favorite states - so green!!!
...next was Indiana
Austin still being a champ and driving
OHIO - so happy when we finally reached it because that meant Andy & Lauren!!! We still had about 5 hours to get to their place though!!
SO MUCH FARMLAND - I really couldn't believe how much land there was with like NOTHING on it!! Such cute farm houses and barns though... I love this picture Austin took!
CLEVELAND!
We finally made it to Andy and Lauren's on Sunday just in time for dinner!!! Lauren made the best food, and it was such a good break!
We were soo soo soo happy to see all of them because it had been a whole year!! Sad! They were all so big!
Drew Drew was cracking me up. He is such a funny kid. He was so excited and said, "I am just so happy you guys are here!" Then he would say, "I love you guys, do you love me?" It was soooo cute. He was my little buddy and gave me the best hugs. Avery is such a doll!!! She was so excited to tell us that she had a loose tooth!! That means she is getting way too old. We miss these guys!!!
We played "tackle" with super drew and bumble bee - hide and go seek - and watched Toy Story 2
This was our first time meeting or niece Alivia
We had a sleepover in Avery's room. The kids slept on the blow up mattress, and we slept in the bed. At first, Avery was asleep and Austin was hanging out with Andy downstairs, so it was just me and Drew in the bedroom. He brought his electric toothbrush and toothpaste in there and would not stop brushing his teeth!!!! I guess that's what you get when you have a dad who's a dentist. He would get up and close the door, then lay back down. Then get up and come lay in bed with me. I was trying to get him to go to sleep by pretending to be asleep to get that chatterbox to stop talking. He grabbed my cheeks, but his face right up to mine and said, "I know you are tricking me, Andrea!" haha!! Then Andy and Lauren both came in to tell him to go to bed. He told them he was "just so mad at them, and he wasn't tired". Love that kid.
The next morning we ate yummy German Pancakes and hung out for as long as possible before we had to go. Andy fixed our cigarette lighter that had been broken for at least 2 years - such a handy man to have around!!! Thanks Andy!
Drew hated my hair being up and kept asking me when I was going to take that out!!
So sad to say goodbye, but we will see them in October and December...yay!!!
At this point we had 11 more hours of driving...AHHH!!!
New York was our last state before Massachusettes, and we decided we wanted to move there!!! So green and so many trees and vinyards....
YAHOOOOOO finally Massachusettes!!!!!
I have to admit they had the boringest state sign!
As you can already tell from the picture, Massachusettes is the land of TREES!! sooo many trees.. I love it!!
Our apartments aren't anything too special. We didn't bring decorations or anything so they are super plain, but I love them! They are nice and safe!
Bedroom
Nice big closet and master bathroom..
Kitchen
Family Room
Our backyard is a FOREST
....and so is our front yard
the best part (which I haven't even used yet ha) is the intercom - it reminds me of the movies (mostly You've Got Mail) where they beep up to your room and you can buzz them in. Love it.
OH and PS - we have 2 bedrooms if anyone wants to come visit :)
Wow, this is a long post, and I am still not caught up.
Boston has been a blast so far (for me)! Austin has been going to work at about noon and coming home after midnight. He is working soooo hard that cute guy!!! Hopefully the paycheck will reflect that!!!! As for me - I've just hanging out having fun with Char and Trudi. I feel like I am in 8th grade again :) We go to the pool, eat, and watch One Tree Hill!!
I have applied to about 100 jobs the last couple days and got my first call back today (we'll see), so I am soaking in all this free time. I've been making Austin sack lunches and dinner every night (at midnight - not good for my figure), and it's been fun to play wifey instead of student.
Today Char, Trudi, and I had our first big outing to the city, so I will have pics to come soon :)

Oh the memories!! This takes me back to well the past three years of driving home every summer from Florida or North Carolina. The best was when we drove from
Miami to the very top of Montana (almost Canada) 49
hours!!! Did I mention I didn't drive for even a second?!? My sweet husband did all the work! We also slept at rest stops not only is it a little creepy it was so humid I would wake up from 3 hours all sticky and feel disgusting for hours and hours! Glad you made it safe! Sounds like you'll have a fun summer!
Best post ever!! ;) It was SO fun to see you guys. Wish you could have stayed longer!! Can't wait for the trip back. Hopefully you will stay longer in Nebraska now that Austin knows we are fun ;) haha
Wow!!! You guys did it! I hate driving too. I don't think I could even do 4 hours. The pictures are so beautiful... I forget some of the country is so GREEN!

Missed you at the Gold 'n Green the other night. Matt and your parents are so cute.
Between that and Ricky's reception, I was thinking about all the old times we had together in all our craziness.
